This illustration is inspired by the Chinese legend of carp swimming upstream in a waterfall to the top of the mountain. Many make the journey but few dare to attempt the leap over the Dragon Gate. The ones who successfully make the leap are transformed into dragons.

Swimming upstream against oppressive systems takes courage and community. Our ancestors, comrades, and future kin are all part of our journey towards collective liberation. We may not see all that we're imagining and building in our lifetime, but we are all part of the collective journey.
